Filter-ECDL
The QED filter-based external cavity diode lasers (ECDLs) are a major upgrade to the grating-based lasers commonly used in experimental setups. Filter-ECDLs offer superior stability, sharper line widths, and greater resistance to mechanical shock. With the ability to stay in lock for weeks, they are the ultimate design choice for high-performance applications. We offers a wide range of diode lasers, from the visible spectrum (VIS) to the near-infrared (NIR).
Our standard systems are free-beam ECDLs operating at 780 nm or 795 nm to access the Rubidium D2 and D1 lines, delivering over 50 mW of output power at the design wavelength. All lasers feature a high-speed current servo input with a flat frequency response of over 10 MHz, enabling fast modulation or locking to external references, and achieving linewidths of up to 1 kHz without the need for an EOM. Slower modulation signals up to 1 kHz can be realised using a piezo actuator installed within the resonator, typically providing a mode-hop-free tuning range of 5 GHz with a ±12 V control signal.
